For what it is worth and those who need a wipe out clean.

  • Have a back up moto cell or any of your name brand, such as google pixle, and other devices:
Otherwise you will spend an enterinty headache if you did that vice versa, like for a samsung no good:

Here is what I asked my copliot since I have attempted this just now:

Absolutely, Stewie — here’s the clean, efficient, no‑nonsense setup ritual that cuts your Moto Edge setup time in half.
This is the order that keeps Android from fighting you, keeps bloat from reinstalling, and keeps your accounts syncing smoothly.

I’ll keep it tight, clear, and in the right sequence so you don’t waste a minute.

(This is the “do this first, then this” list you asked for.)

1. Prep the older Moto phone

Do this before resetting the Moto Edge.

  • Turn it on
  • Connect to Wi‑Fi
  • Make sure all your Gmail accounts are signed in
  • Make sure Backup is ON
    • Settings → System → Backup → Backup by Google One
  • Leave it unlocked and awake

This ensures the Edge can “see” it during setup.

2. Factory reset the Moto Edge 2022

  • Settings → System → Reset options → Erase all data
  • Let it reboot
  • Don’t sign into anything yet

3. Connect to Wi‑Fi

This unlocks the restore options.

4. When it asks “Copy apps & data?” choose YES

This is the fork in the road.
If you skip this, you lose the multi‑account restore.

5. Choose “A backup from an Android device”

This is the magic option that pulls all your Gmail accounts back.

6. Select your older Moto phone

It should appear automatically if it’s:

  • On
  • Unlocked
  • Connected to Wi‑Fi
  • Backed up

Pick the most recent backup.

7. Let the restore finish BEFORE opening Gmail

This prevents the slow, choking sync you experienced earlier.

8. Disable bloatware BEFORE opening the Play Store

This stops junk apps from updating themselves.

Go to:

  • Settings → Apps → See all apps
  • Disable anything you don’t want
  • Do this before Play Store updates them

This saves a ton of time.

9. Turn off auto‑restore for apps you don’t want

Play Store → Profile icon → Settings → General → Auto-update apps → Turn off
This keeps your phone clean.

10. Customize your launcher and home screen last

Once the system is stable and quiet, then:

  • Set wallpaper
  • Arrange icons
  • Adjust gestures
  • Tune notifications
  • Add widgets

Doing this last prevents your layout from shifting while apps install.

Because you’re not fighting:

  • Background sync
  • App updates
  • Bloat reinstalling
  • Gmail choking
  • Duplicate downloads
  • System lag

You’re doing everything in the order Android actually cooperates with.

This is what I feel it needs to be posted up for those who are trying to stumbled across just a 20 minute version because you cannot wait that long for a text or call, sheesh, why not email them on your mind using a voice note?

or if you have a samsung phone, you can just use smart switch to back things up for you, reset your phone, then use smart switch again to restore everything.....easy peasy.
Hahaaa. I have tried that way too hahaaa, I have did that one too, I love taking the longest way, builds up my hippocampus.

When I did Samsung smart switch, and just had to download a wallpaper from Whatsapp, app saids my storage was full of my tablet,
I forgot to clean out the videos hahaaa... :)

I already did the Samsung switch over a few hours ago,
rethinking of system clean out, and why do I see the bugs on it though?

*After that was pretty easy once I transferred my data over to my cell; it speeds up the process and only takes about an hour set up,
max, with customizations. That is the pretty easy way how to system wipe out clean your account folks on the internet.

Still if you are like me, a writer and human, takes up some time, it with custominzations, barely like an hour together :)
Do not reset on whenever you feel like, I felt like there was a strange bug on mine. Probably wifi just to check email at my side job :P

Another walk around if you did download your personal apps on your tablet, or other motorolla cell phones, after you first synch, it should have all those app install first, on my tablet it is just grey icons but I can still interact with them, and profit, but the quick and very fast one is still Samsung Switch since you will have your google accounts synch off the bat, I just did it because of the reboot date on it. Sort of bump it up.

Before doing anything when copy and pasting to a new device, use the cable and connect to the devices, the wifi requires an "okay google set up my device"

Has a strange moto 771 on it, I said oh clover it over with mac and cheese on it, toss it into the garbage, I factoy reseted it again and I did connect both devices with my cable, that was I began early in the morning since I had my mother's party last night, took me most of the morning up until afternoon..

Keep that in mind if you have two devices, do not do the Samsung switch thing, that is complicated english for anyone to understand!

Also clear up your entire day! Because you will be bend over with your cell in your hand after that, turning off vibration et all.
Do not clean it up like every day either, let it rest and clean it clean whenever you feel like a final resort.

For those who are wondering and had to accidently fork over money online or text, I usually do not factory wipe out my cell three days in a row, I had to do it once duration on last week, on Wed. for my accessority button was not functioning also the all apps, the square button on the three button navigation, be sure to either back up your precious memories on clouds or on your pc first, also with music as well, I am against putting up anything on google photos since they will steal your photos from your cellphones and decided to nab them on the cloud once you, delete them from photos they will be gone forever, be sure to disable this feature asap!

Today I decided to do that for the anoying save images on my aves photo gallery, it was well worth it too, I still have to do a few extra steps but by around three p, it should be right where I wanted to be with too, but you are a different person then I am, but my word for advice back up everything on your windows machines!

"Sure after so nearly a year and half of owning your cell phone blah blah blah, back up to cloud, blah blah blah.... Listen I grew up with taking photos and putting them in my photo box, you think you know what I did photographed, no one but me."

Important for me, for whenever I get on or for other folks, be sure to disable google photos before you put anything on your cell.
It is super califlower annoying.

Don't believe that I have ever used Google photos. My wife got on with using it when she bought her first pixel phone and now is facing notifications that tell her that she's nearly out of storage.

I use a couple of Gmail email addresses as well as Google photos.

I am not real jazzed about the auto syncing of my computer to phone and vise versa of the photos.

Google also has an annoying thing about showing an image from a year ago on my phone and asking me if I remember it ....

Never have gotten a storage message from then and I have alot of pics there.

Yeah I back up mine on my p.c. it still has, about 100 Gigs left.

! Fifteen minutes when copying the data over.
! Fifteen minutes turning off vibration with a stylus, this is a mega plus if you hate the haptic.
! About like a few more for the disable the games and apps they flooded, just yesterday I noticed it stuck me with an alarm clock app, seriously no thanks.
I do not want an alarm clock ever, I rather do radio or tv to gentely get me up with coffee and my pencil in my hand.
! After that be sure, I am not so sure if anyone did use a usb cord for windows pop up via windows explorer and your cell, click on the main cellphone compoment and you will noticed:

Documents, alarms, podcast, ringtones - delete them if you want, that will save you from having a headache for an extra long dir path down the road.
But if you like having your cell up to about one mb of data go right ahead and scratch your head.
