What it feels like to lose weight?

I saw your daily menu. I normally eat only once a day, these days. It used to be that I could go to a buffet and would eat 2, or more, plates and still be hungry. I don't know why, but I don't have much of an appetite these days.
It would be great if I could get out and do any walking. I had both of my hips replaced, years ago, so that's not an option for me.
I'd like to be able to get rid of the left over belly fat too but compared to what I used to look like I can actually find clothes that fit these days.
PC, I'm a little confused; I thought walking was okay after a hip replacement? I know my mom walked a ton after hers. Of course she only had one done.

I had my first one done 30 years ago. Doctors order was no prolonged standing and walking. Walking up to 1 mile.

My increased protein intake (especially in the morning) and 2 mile walks most days aren't reflected in my weight yet (lean muscle weighs more than fat), but it is reflected in my waist. Two months ago I could not even button my size 36 Levi's 501s. A month ago I could, but I had an obscene muffin top with it. Today, not only do they fit, I have some room to spare in there. That said: I have a long way to go, but at least it's visible progress.

Just by tweaking my diet and exercise, the weight is starting to come off. My lean muscle weight is 143 lbs according to my metabolic scale, so I need at least half that in grams of protein, or 72 grams, per day. After my 2-mile walk this morning, I slammed a 30g protein shake; then had a half cup of full milkfat cottage cheese (13g); and then fried up 5 eggs and 5 half-strips of bacon for each of us. That put me at 83g of protein before 8 AM - and I haven't had the first hint of carbohydrates. I'll mess with carbs at lunch and early dinner... but my weight is down over 4 pounds this week over last Monday and I feel great
