Help USSD codes wil not work

I just bought a Galaxy S duos. I travel a lot so dual SIMs are important to me. I was also replacing my troublesome Galaxy Note (worst product ever) as my travel handset. Anyway M1 requires tha I use the USSD code #100* to check status. The code worked on the GN, but will not run on my S duos...

    What are the 'Storage Types'?

System storage I gather is the NAND flash (792MB/1.97GB) USB storage is what? (9.18GB/11.97GB) SD card is obvious (7.09GB/14.4GB) The mystery is what exactly is USB storage? I guess USB does not refer to Universal Serial Bus.

Turn off "field" that drives the stylus

Any idea how to turn off the stylus? There is no obvious way via settings, and nothing came up on Google. I will never use the stylus (no comment). My GN is strictly a micro tablet (no SIM, and airplane mode always is on so it is not a phone). I thought if the field that drives the stylus is...

    USSD exploit on Galaxy Note

    I ran the test on both of my phones, by going to dylanreeve.com/phone.php. The results on my GN are ambiguous. My dialer did in fact open. The message contained only the string '*#06#'. Any thoughts on this? Can someone shed some light on this for all the readers? Regards;

Go Launcher and voice talk (vlingo)

Why do I keep reading that Go Launcher will allow us to remove Voice Talk? It will not. I tried it way back. I even tried it on JB. My friends tried it. The only thing that we could do is disable it, and it stays disabled even when power cycled. We did not need Go Launcher to do that. Anywy...

    Rented movies have never worked.

I use my GN1 as a media player only. I have rented several movies, but have never been able to watch any of them (granted I have not tried for about six months now). First of all, my phone is NOT rooted. Back when I had GB, I tried to root it, so I could rid myself of the dreaded voice...

I have to ask, does anyone like their GN?

I needed a great travel phone (unlocked). I saw the GN when I was in China last winter. I ordered one out of Germany delivered to my home back in the USA. Three weeks later I returned, and my GN was waiting for me. It sat there unused until my next Aisa trip. I used it in Singapore, and...

Play Store, does it work for you?

I have tried three times to rent movies. Not one has worked. The first two times they refunded my money right away. On the third time Google customer support was somewhat less than "warm" with me. I have several freinds who have Android phones. Not a one of us was able to watch a movie. We...

What pre-installed apps did you disable?

I think my phone is finally stable. I went wild disabling things. It has gone 75 hours without hanging. I think my battery is doing better as well. I disabled everythign I would not possibly use. All of the following is included: Android live wallpapers AP mobile news Aurora 2...

    Factory Reset

I have seen the "Factory Reset" mentioned several times. Some people say they do it after updating to ICS. What will I loose if I do this (the music I purchased)? Honestly my phone is next to useless as it is. If freqently freezes, and the apps crash a lot. I can not even rely on it to wake...

    Mobile boarding pass

I downloaded the Continental Airlines app. I viewed my reservations on it. Everything was great until I tried to use the mobile boarding pass. What a mistake. The bar code was on the the screen, but the line took too long. My screen timed out and the display went to sleep. I pressed the...
