What pre-installed apps did you disable?

I think my phone is finally stable. I went wild disabling things. It has gone 75 hours without hanging. I think my battery is doing better as well.

I disabled everythign I would not possibly use. All of the following is included:

Android live wallpapers
AP mobile news
Aurora 2
BadgeProvider
Blue sea
Calculator - Replaced it with a better calc.
Face Unclock
Google+
Kobo
Messaging - Relaced it with WhatsApp - No SPAM! :)
Mini diary
Music Hub
News & Weather
Photo wall
Polaris office
Readers Hub
Social Hub
Talk
Talk back
Voice talk
Yahoo! Finance
Zino

These are for networking, and I can not seem to disable them:
SNS
SNS disclaimer
SNSAccountFb
SNSAccountLi
SNSAccountTw
SNSImageCashe

I used to have Skype on my phone but I started getting SPAM, so I uninstalled it.

What did you disble? Any suggestions? Is there anything I should re-enable?

I am far from being an expert.

You must have Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0x).

You can not "remove" them. You can just make some go away indefinitely. Not all the apps allow you to do so. Some can only be made to go away until you power cycle again.

I went into Settings, then Applications. Then I used the tab on the left to select "All". Scroll down to the app you want to disable Tap on it. Then in this order tap "Clear data", "Force Stop". This will kill the app until you restart the phone. If you want it to day "dead" then select "Disable". You can always go back and select "Enable" to bring it back if you later discover that you disabled something important.

So far I have caused no harm. My battery life has improved, and my phone is better behaved.
 
I've disabled everything same as you except calculator and messaging.

Btw, does anyone know what DSMLawmo is? Whenever it's running, the little arrows below the wifi symbol are always active and my battery drops really quick. I force stop it, then everything settles back down again. Can't disable the bastard thing though.
 
Thank you phredog and Omar; I have already started the disabling process but I can see that I have much further to go.

In answer to your question regarding 'DSMLawmo' Omar I found the following link that sheds some light. As mentioned in the posting there may be more on the Galaxy S3 forum but I have not followed up on that yet.

But anyways, if anyone else sees it running, just force stop it. Didn't ruin my phone or anything.

That XDA thread says it might be for carrier access but I also have it on my non-carrier specific N7000.

I wonder if it might be for Samsung Dive?
 
What "better calculator" do you have (I would like to try one that has decent memory functions e.g. M+ and M-) ?
 
My phone has been on for 8 hrs 24 mins after being restarted with a full battery.
I have not dissabled any pre-installed programmes, and have installed over 97 apps according to the "Downloaded" section. none in the 8 hours specified.

I have spent time on the internet but not made calls or texts today.

wifi and GPS are on.
Push email is on to 2 servers (Google and Exchange)
my battery is on 82 %
Screen brightness is at default setting.

on the other hand - I have found my previous hansdet (had other faults) failed to charge quickly on a generic 2.1 Amp car charger. - whether or not it was in use in the car.
I have not tested this handset yet. (As said the other one had identified faults.)
 
Thanks to all for advice on what is safe to disable. I had done some on my own already, but have more from the list above. The problem I'm having is finding a good comprehensive list of what these little apps ARE so I know which ones I don't want running. Most of these lists say "these are safe to kill if you don't want them running" but give no indication of what they do - so I may actually want to leave some running. If someone knows of a comprehensive list of the apps and their functions it would be greatly appreciated!
 
I got carried away on one of my phones and killed the UI. I can answer calls, and even get to the settings, but I have no icons. Suggestions? Other than a re flash I guess it is a brick. If I can get back into app remover I can retire whatever I killed. I am not sure how to do so.

Is there a way?
