For eons I could happily fire up AppManager or a similar app and move things to my external card.
Now nothing will move.
Still running a rooted Verizon I545 with Hyperdrive 20. (KK 4.4.2)
Did the moon go retrograde or something? (I don't follow astrology but hey, it could matter)
(And the...
I thought I was getting pretty good at unbricking but:
I was running Hyperdrive 18.1 and went to upgrade to RLS19.
The flash didn't take care of the Wifi so I attempted to restore the 18.1 for the time being.
That restore failed (twice).
So I figured, what the hell. Unbrick and start...
I very carefully followed the directions in the video from Bobios Tech World and have been staring at the boot animation for way, way too long. (15 mins now).
I was on RLS 15. Used Safestrap (which is how I installed 15). Did a full wipe, flashed SuperSu.
I suppose I can reboot to...
When I connect my rooted, MJ7 Verizon i545 to the PC it downloads some unspecified "new device software."
I assume that I want nothing to do with whatever VZW is pushing but it can't hurt to ask.
Does the Loki exploit work on the i545/mk2.
When I try to move the loki files into the \data directory I get various error codes. Using My Phone Explorer on a PC the error read OBEX Errorode: D0 - Internal Server Error. Astro on the phone just says "Error Can't Move File).
Is it the...
I've just installed Safestrap 3.70 on my S4/MK2. So far, so good.
I see that there are modules available for this combo but can't find instructions as to when and how to use those modules.
Any guidance?
Second question: Once you've created a backup do you need to put the original...
Has anyone found a way to unlock the bootloader on i545/MJ7?
As I read about CM11 etc. for the i545 most of the posts indicate that you need a real recovery. Do I understand correctly that those of us on the MJ7 are just gonna have to wait for Santa to pull a rabbit out of his sleigh...
I just switched from an S3 to an S4 and didn't realize that the S4 is seemingly so much more locked down. (bummer).
I've rooted (with Vroot) and want to move to CM11. But before I do so I want to backup that stock, rooted, MJ7 rom.
Booting into (stock) recovery doesn't show a backup...
I switched over to CM 10.2 (the 4.3.1 nightly of 10/28) from PacMan and I'm amazed at the battery life.
After nearly 12 hours of routine use (phone, email, some web) and it's still at 74%.
I've not seen other reports of a two day charge but I'm sure not complaining.
(Verizon Galaxy S3...
This should be simple however I've not found the answer:
I've got a bunch of rom backups on my PC that I downloaded from the phone using Rom Manager's backup server. That's easy enough.
But if I want to push those backups back to the phone so as to Restore them (with CWM or whatever) how...
Okay, where is the setting that enables multiwindow in Eclipse?
(Doesn't seem to be anywhere that I've looked in Settings and holding Back doesn't seem to do it)
I was test driving some new roms (Carbon 4.3 and CM 10.2) but decided to go back to Synergy 4.1.2. (Which was backed up and I had successfully used the restore file in the past). The bootloader is unlocked (I'm pretty sure.)
The phone boots up and does all the normal data stuff but neither...
For reasons unknown the Gmail app on my S3 (Running Synergy 4.1.2) is much dimmer than any other app.
Explanation? Solution?
I'd re-install the Gapps however Synergy bundles that as part of their rom zip and I'm not sure which Gapps zip would be correct.
(BTW, anyone know when...
Something is installing all kinds of game apps on my rooted S3 without my asking. (About one new game every few days).
I've wiped the phone and gone through Tibu looking for unknown entries but nothing seems foreign or suspect.
In TiBu there are apps that are struck-through which I think...
Following these instructions from Liquid Smooth:
Coming from another ROM:
- Flash a recent Recovery
- Copy GApps and Liquid ZIPs to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash Liquid zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- AFTER FLASHING LIQUID AND GAPPS DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY...
Until the other day when I downloaded the new Google keyboard AND flashed an updated version of Synergy Rom my keyboard had a really handy top row with numbers.
Now its gone and I can't tell if it was the new Google-Board or the new (r484) of Synergy. (Heck, the keyboard with numbers might...
I recently switched to TWRP for flashing and it's acting weird.
No matter where I put the .zip for the ROM it seems invisible to TWRP.
Here's what I do:
Put the zip in some folder
Fire up Rom Manager and select "Install from SD"
Rom manager asks for the location and I point to...
I'm looking for a app that will put four (or at most six) great big (user definable) buttons/icons on one of my home screens.
This would be to make it easier to hit the "office" direct dial shortcut or the "Google Now/Microphone" when I don't have my glasses on or whatever.
I don't have...
The other day I installed Wallet using WalletInstaller3.APK). Worked like a charm. (And I did not mess with Build.Prop as that is beyond my confidence/skill level).
Today Wallet upgraded via Play Store and now the apps tells me that (duh) I've got a rooted phone and the Google Gods are...
I rooted my first Android nearly four years ago (I think, I didn't write down the date).
Since then I've eagerly updated ROMS as the came out. It's fun to toy with the phone.
I most recently switched from Synergy 4.1.1 to Liquid Smooth 4.2.?
Liquid is nice but I actually went back...
I'm presently running Synergy r362 on my Verizon S3. (Android Version 4.1.1)
The baseband is listed as I535VRLF2. Is this the most up to date radio?
Does Synergy package the current radio along with their new roms?
If not, what radio am I looking for? The HD version of last summer?
And...
A report on a new lithium battery technology that claims three times the battery life. From a usually reputable source.
Smarthphone Battery Life Could Be Doubled Or Tripled With Silicon Graphene Tech | TPM Idea Lab
Here's an excerpt:
The battery life of your smartphone could soon be...
This seems like it should be a no brainer:
I need to stream video from my S3 to a remote user. I will not have Wifi available. (I'll be sending images of Hurricane Sandy damage to a technician who will try to help me make some repairs. Forget Wifi, we still don't have electricity)...
