    Help Cannot install .apk files

    I download a file sometimes from my computer and put in the root of sd card sometimes from my phone directly . I open Astro find that file go to app manager and it and it says : could not open (directory) as apk file . I have got Unknown Sources on. Its rooted. Any help will be appreceite.
