    Root What Am I Doing Drong?

    I just Rooted 2.2 and I tried to install Fresh Evo 3.1.0.2. It worked but for some reason it's just hanging at the boot screen. It's been about 15 min now and It keeps replaying the animation. What did I do wrong?

    Can anybody tell me what exactly rooting does, what the different Roms are for and the disadvantages to rooting my Evo 4g? Just bought it last week and I've messed with Launchers and stuff but I'm looking for more.
