i have lg optimus me(p350) unrooted.firstly tell me will i be able to reclaim warranty by just just unrooting if i have not flashed any new rom. secondly, what are the advantages of just rooting ie without flashing new rom. will i be able to overclock and underclock.

The icon in the status bar, next to the signal strength, appears when Data Transfer is not on. It has a bright red cross. This icon in the status bar is really irritating. how can i remove it without turning on my Data Transfer. I've noticed in other phones this icon is not present. :(
