Help 0% battery after being on charger overnight

So I have a Droid Bionic, completely stock. Took it off the charger/docking station one morning and screen was blank as in, powered off. I pressed the power button to turn it on and only get the battery logo showing 0% charged. Phone shuts back off.

So, I plug the power cord directly into the phone this time expecting it to at LEAST allow the phone to power up. NOPE, Nadda...

Lucky for me I kept my original battery (phone was using the extended battery purchased from Verizon). I popped it in and it came right up.

Conclusion: ??? bad battery. So I took it to work with me in effort to stop by Verizon store to see about swapping it. Prior to doing so, I was telling a buddy about it, and I put the Ext. Battery back in and BAM.. works just fine.

FAST FW 1 week. >>

My wife Bionic did the EXACT same thing. Took it off the docking station and it showed 0%. I gave her my original Droid Bionic battery to use.

Anyone know whats going on here?

Is there a battery bug or something?

Both phones stock, never rooted or even attempted..

Thanks,

Is it possible that the extended battery terminal connection points are not making a good connection with the phone? I've had one time when I plugged in my charger to find when I woke that the phone was down to 28% - it had not charged overnight. Now I always make sure that the battery icon shows that the phone is charging when I plug the phone in.

I thought these very same things... However, when I was at work and I put the Ext. Battery back in, just to see what it would do, it was actually FULLY charged and the Bionic has been functioning fine ever since (so far).

It's like I had to swap the battery out for a few hours and then put it back in. Wierd..

... or ... check the contacts on the battery. Maybe one is only making contact sometimes. Maybe a slight vibration is breaking the contact. Maybe they are dirty (one person cleaned his with a pencil eraser).

Not scaring me... just wanting to know... I have to say, I like the phone, but its been buggy...

If Moto and Google cant get their act together on these things, I may (putting up my hands to protect myself) have to look at the next Iphone (if its at LEAST 4" screen and 4G lte).

The docking stations are "quirky". The only one I wanted was to dock with my workstation and it is not available for the Bionic.

I don't have a docking station. I charge my battery every might with the USB cable and charger that came with it. I have my battery mode set to Performance mode. I have had no problems (since hour two of release day in September).

Did you check the battery contacts on both batteries?

You could try charing the way I do and see if your problems "magically disappear".

There were a bunch of bad batteries a few months ago in western US. I don't know where you are. Maybe you have two bad batteries that need to be exchanged.

All of those problems have died down. Maybe they were bought at the same time at the same store and are remnants of that old-old problem?
