Really just posting this on here for noobs like myself.

This is my first ROM I have ever used (coming over from ios) and I thought I would share here with everyone. It's called the Droid HD Rom. You can download either the 1.01 version that has soft keys only and disables the hard keys or you can go to page 8 (the 17th post down) and find 1.02 version with Hard keys on and Soft keys disabled. I have found the CPU adjustments that are built in really help battery life (at least they have mine). Also the circular widgets are awesome and the whole rom is smooth and fast like stock. It also has Google Now.

I'm running artic hd, pretty much the same thing but I think Droid hd has softness and artic hd doesn't.

I'm on .10 which I think Is the newest version, for artic hd anyway
 
Yeah I don't like them. It was awesome on my nexus but now it would just waste screen space. Plus every time I've tried them the hard keys still lit up which was annoying
 
Flashed and working smoothly. Few questions...My widget is saying no weather app installed? Do I have to install a specific one?

Also the steps for the OTA Update in settings? I dont see that anywhere in settings..
 
Hm weird. The only time that happened to me was when I was using beautiful widgets and didn't have the extra weather thing installed. The circles widget works fine for me though.
 
Did these steps 4 times and still not installing correctly:
How to flash:
1) Boot into Safestrap.
2) Switch over to the Safe-Enabled side.
3) Wipe Data.(wiped 3x in a row to make sure)
4) Wipe Cache.
5) Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
6) Mounts and storage -> Format system
7) Install the zip downloaded from the link below.(using install zip from sd card option)
8) After first boot (which can sometimes take upwards of 10 minutes), reboot your device for best results.

Its almost as if the ROM half installs or something. Everything functions fine, but I have no DroidHD settings, no OTA Update settings, no Google Now, and widget is broken..also, when i hit home, i get multiple homescreen options like i previously stated. I downloaded the link from page 8, then again from matts dev page.

There must be something I am missing, or for some reason its flashing incorrectly....But i am following those steps, to a T every single time

I saw your post on droidrazr.com, did the md5 sum match up when you downloaded? I'm honestly not sure why it wouldn't be working..
 
What shows on the screen WHILE you are flashing the ROM? Are you sure you are flashing the ROM and not your nandroid?

Im honestly not sure how to use that. A few have told me about it. I will try again when I get home I guess, or maybe just tomorrow..Maybe my work computer isnt downloading the file correctly for whatever reason...

Installing zip from sd, and its the file name that I downloaded..

Thank you for downloading Razr HD blah blah credit to matt ect...

then wiping, installing ect..

Its definitely not my nandroid. I am not a pro, but I am not a complete noob :-P

What it looks like its doing, is installing a partial verison of the rom, with almost a launcher over it: thus the 2 home screen options..But in reality its just a regular ICS rom with the circles widget and a few other slight differences.

It has to be a download issue..No other reason it wouldnt work. Im doing everything right. But i dont get how its installing and working 100% without all the proper features in it?
 
Sounds like you are doing the right things then :)


FWIW, I had to reflash it twice. The first time it locked up and I forced a reboot. Things went find for a day and then it completely crashed. Second time I flashed it it locked again and I left it alone (it rebooted itself) and everything was fine after that point.
 
It's gotta be a bad download. Are you downloading it on your pc and moving it to your card?

If so it may be a bad copy from your pc to phone, I would try downloading it on your phone if you have wifi access. It will save in sdcard/download, you can either navigate to that location with safestrap, but I always like to move it to the root of mnt/sdcard-ext

Yea i tried that too. Still same thing. Idk what the hell the deal is. I gave up honestly. I want it to work but whatever

Just tried HD and having the same issue. I think there is something wrong with my phone..it doesnt fully flash these ROMS on. Its not bad downloads either. I tried on 2 different computers, and right through the phone, from different dl sources. Idk what the hell the issue is.

Do you have to be stock rooted to flash roms? Or can you flash over other roms? Maybe thats my issue? Like its giving my the circles widget, but not GoogleNow? Its very weird.
 
As long as you are on 211,214 or 215 and do all the necessary wipes it shouldn't matter what rom you come from. I have always flashes roms over top another and have not had an issue, just be sure to format /system
