1.3mp or 1mp front cam?

I read that the front cam is supposed to be 1.3mp yet it will only let me take pictures up to 1mp (1280x720 resolution). Have I been scammed?
 
You can turn off Widescreen in the settings and it should bump it to 1280x960 (4:3). Not much of an improvement, but better than nothing. Not going to get 1280x1024 from this phone (that I know of).
