1.6 ota update........

I got the update yesterday at about 3pm (Greenville, SC) I had the anycut installed and then i started DM and it worked for me. the update didnt take but 5 minutes maybe 6 and my phone its running faster. I just hope that the battery life is not as bad as everyone says it is.

i received the update 2 days ago i used the any cut method it works i did receive the original update i had called t mobile prior to using any cut and they were useless they told me to do a factory restart and wait 72 hours so no update then i started looking in to it and saw alot of people using any cut to grabbing the update i would tell you to do a factory restart and go to a 3g area and use any cut its very simple and worth it it really worked for me

Update on SD card issue:

I have now gone 4+ days on a 16GB SD card that used to corrupt virtually every hour before the 1.6 update. It has worked perfectly since the update. I have connected via USB multiple times etc...with no issues, so at least for me, the issue seems to have been solved.

Any one else who was having this problem attempted to test it under 1.6?

nu-

Let me be the first to say, "YOU FRIGGIN ROCK!"

Thank you so much for spending your time doing this. I'm so ready to get this phone into proper form.

Reports on how it performs? I hear faster and worse battery. I'm cool with that.

Have you tried the WiFi tether programs yet? Any hope for that? (BTW, I haven't a clue what's possible with root.)

Thanks again! I'm on it...just as soon as I dig up a data cable.

There is no root yet. When we do get it done proper I will certainly be looking at Wifi tether apps.

I dont know if this helps but i have a friend that stated that she called tmobile and they said that if you have not received the update yet then they have a way of pushing it to you. her update was pushed and she actually received it in about two hours. Hope it helps!

HELLP

my odin keeps on closing on me when ever i set my package option to the .tar.md5 file. can i change that file to .tar file and then set it for the option?

I took my girlfriends BH2 yesterday and shut it down normally, removed the battery for a long 10 seconds and then booted it back up. As soon as it came to the desktop it showed the blue and red arrows and they stayed. About 1 min later the 3G went red and stayed that way for about 5 min, then boom I received the congrats screen. Went through the steps and reboot and all was good.

Findings, it is faster and does seem to respond to txt and emails better. The home screen pans right and left WAY faster now, but the apps menu on the left still scrolls up and down the same. More options are available in the settings menus. Google maps is WAY better now, and the market place looks like my 2.2 without the update all button.
The battery does seem to be draining faster, but I heard from several people that is a 3-5 day issue and it goes away soon enough. Nothing on the SD card yet and the speaker phone issue that she had(echoed on everyone else's end really bad!).

Hello.

I received the 1.6 update for my Behold 2 on Tuesday June 29. I don't know if people are still having problems getting the update, but I was able to download mine on Edge. What I did was I plugged in my phone, then simply restarted it. The download took awhile on Edge, but eventually started.

However, after my phone completed the update, I had no network access at all (no phone signal, no internet, etc), no vibration, no SIM contacts, the Wi-Fi no longer worked, the touch screen stopped responding after about 25 minutes, and my phone said it was still 1.5. These problems were still there after a Master Factory Reset, making my phone completely unusable except for a really nice flashlight. T-Mobile is sending me a new one, but I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem, or if I'm just lucky. Thanks.

This will probably fix it: http://androidforums.com/all-things...n-images-available-latest-t-mobile-stock.html

Wow you give my flashbacks of when I was begging samsung for some help on getting 2.1.

Anyways I'll help you, I dont know if you have the right drivers.

there are certain drivers that work for win 7 64 bit (which i'm sure you have them)

Now do this, connect your phone while its on.

I dont know if you have to mount it or not, but first try this "unmounted" and on mass storage mode.

Then open device manager and look for something similar to usb components.

"please make sure to only have your samsung being the only usb component, disconnect the rest of the things that need a usb"

Now that you see the only usb component (which you can easily tell thats its your behold II)

right click or double click it, and click on 'update/reinstall drivers'

now navigate to your "special samsung drivers"

and viola, it should work now.

if it doesnt, then redownload your odin.

thanks but nothing. triedu pdating the samsung drivers usb and it keeps reading ''newest and best drivers already installed'' so i deleted my odin and redownloaded, still reading ''PLEASE CONNECT PHONES''

im so *********** pissed off right now.

debugging mode!?!?!? im just following the directions from the guys link

"
  1. Turn off and disconnect your Behold 2 from your computer.
  2. Extract and setup the Samsung ADB drivers if you haven't already done this.
  3. Connect your Behold 2 via USB.
  4. Start the phone in Download Mode by pressing and holding the following buttons in order: Volume Down > D-Pad OK > Power/End.
  5. Run Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe.
  6. Click Reset Files.
  7. Click OPS - pick Behold2.ops.
  8. Under Options, check One Package.
  9. Click One Package - pick Update-T939UVIJ6-to-UVJA3-OnePackage.tar.md5.
  10. Click Start. Odin and your phone's screen will begin to display the status of the firmware download process. After a minute your phone will reboot while Odin continues its timer. Your phone is flashed at this point and you can begin to use it after it boots. "
