1) Advise books / video tutorials / ... on programming for Android

Good afternoon, Dear Members. I decided to learn to program under android and encountered a small problem ... There is a large number of books, manuals, video tutorials, but each author is individual. Something in them converges, but something is not. In order not to waste time, I decided to address people who learned to program on this os. Which are better to use books, video tutorials, or something else for more effective learning. You don't need to spend $1000 on training. There are a multitude of books and web resources available to help you learn Android.
If you do want to go down the paid route, then I can recommend Pluralsight, which costs $29/month, and you wouldn't need more than 2 months membership to get a good grounding in Android development.
Of course this is assuming you already know Java. If you don't, then I would start there first. Again, many, many books and web resources available for this language.
I personally started learning Android with this book. It gives you a good introduction

After that I improved my knowledge by reading web articles, and creating my own apps.

Sounds good, but actually this is a swamp, which will slow down you for years...
More money less time, less money ... years.

Honestly, I can't think of many other technical subjects, where there's more information freely available, than Android. This includes many basic tutorials, and information on any facet of Android programming. I don't see how this wealth of information is going to slow someone down.

Using that book I mentioned, gave me a solid foundation knowledge, and put me in a great position to start developing Android apps. It didn't take long. I'm talking a matter of days to start being productive. Although I do have a software development background, which is why I asked about the OPs experience.
