Although he hasn't changed the course of history, I'd nominate George Hotz for his work on jailbreaking iOS and being the first person to crack the PS3 which up till that time was thought to be unbreakable. All this and the guy is only 21. Can't imagine the kind of stuff he might be doing in a decade or so.
