I keep getting this device not compatible with apps I already had like Starbucks, or The Seattle Seahawks app. How or can this be fixed??? Or am I stuck with an outdated system for a tablet just bought from Wal-Mart?

When you say the apps aren't compatible, what is your tablet telling you? It's running Android 5.0, so it should be able to handle the apps.

It says this device is not compatible. I also have a Samsung Galaxy 3 it also gets the same this device is not compatible.
That's really weird. I would suggest that you make sure that Google Play Services is updated to the latest version, as well as the Play Store. I know that some apps are optimized for smartphones and won't work on tablets. You might verify tablet compatibility with the app developers.

As soon as I figure out how to update Google Play.
Everything should update automatically once you connect to WiFi. There's a site called APK Mirror where you can download updates to apps, but you really shouldn't have to do that much work...
