100% new to Android. Hello!

So, I currently have an iPhone and am switching to Android with the Samsung Galaxy S4 announcement.

I have NO knowledge of the OS at all and am extremely interested and willing to learn as much as I can before the phone actually comes out.

If you all have any tips or information that you'd like to share with me, that would be excellent.

I've heard about rooting but don't know much about it. I'd like to customize it as much as possible and not sure if this is required for that type of thing.

I know it's not the S4 but you can gather some basic info and a feel for the phone.
