$100 off a tablet

I rarely shop at BB, but I haven't had any good experience with them, they're usually pretty dumb bunch of people. Funny that FutureShop owns BB and FutureShop is far better.

I'm in Canada, anyone know if this coupon works here? I'm printing it out and gonna head to Staples this weekend.

I think you mean BB owns FutureShop. Anyways, the coupon says it is valid in Staples U.S. Stores only, so its a no go in Canada.

Heh, good luck with that. If I was a manager of a store, I would be reading all of the fine print looking for a reason not to honor it. (But I wouldn't pull stuff out of my but and refuse to only partially honor it like Office Depot did.)

I just picked up my Transformer locally this morning. It turns out the only stipulation for Best Buy or Office Depot is that a Staples within so many miles must have it in stock.

Best Buy, regardless of the location, will indeed accept this.I had both local stores deny me for the same reasons others are reporting. However, I looked online for the policy and it states to call a number, 1 800 Best Buy I think, to have them accept it. They will match it without question if a Staples within 25 miles has it in stock.

Office Depot was the same and strangely enough when the called the local Staples who told me they didnt carry it instore, told them they got some in. So they gave it to me for $299. Holy crap, for the hardware this thing has (software, has a little ways but I trust it will come) you really have to buy it at that price,$50 more than Nook Color, jeez, insane.. If you dont like it you can resell it on Craigslist for a decent profit. I love it. ( Oh wow i just noticed i can swype. Staff, sassy, away, as, SF, zag, (dammit ok, tough time registering the word sweet but still cool.)

TL;DR As long a a Staples within 25 miles has it in stock both Best Buy and Office Depot will take the coupon. If the local stores say no, call corporate, I verified this with them and have the discounted Transformer as evidence from Office Depot but was assured by corporate Best Buy that they would do it too

Wait, the Staples near you has them in store? The guy at my Staples didn't think they were being sold in Staples stores at all because online it "delivery only" and the store near me never received any Transformers.

Thats what I heard too, then heard special Staples" technology" stores had them. But today the manager at Office Depot said she called the regular one down the street and they said they had them in stock. So she matched it. I dont know, I havent verified personally that the store had it or not.

Huh, well that's interesting. What is a Staples "technology" store? Is there any way locate one around you? On the plus side, the 32GB Transformer is now listed as "in stock" at Staples.com. I hope that is a sign that the 16GB model will come back in stock as well so I can use my coupon. I at the very least hope that in case the 16GB doesn't come back in stock, I will still be able to get the 32GB version for the price of the 16GB version.

Also, why is there always like a $100 difference between 16GB and 32GB tablet models, and this isn't just with the Transformer. Doesn't the extra 16GB only add on another $20 or so?

It isn't much, but people pay for it and it increases profit margins. If I remember correctly, it costs ASUS $268 in parts to make the 16GB transformer; with this $100 off, they are practically losing money on it.

Edit: 32GB model is still out of stock on staples.

It went out of stock just a little after I posted. I had one in my cart and everything.

LOL! This is insane. I have my dad chasing one around the cinci area for me because I'm out of the country and he's having a helluva time finding one. He did say he found a 32gb one though. I'd rather have the 16gb one but see what happens. Even if I could only get the 32gb one with the coupon, that's pretty much just getting another 16gb for free.

I wish we could find out how many tablets were sold as the result of this coupon. I went on to Staples.com and checked for store availability for every major tablet they offered, ALL of them were completely sold out at my local Staples. 0_o
