Walk into your local brick and mortar store and price out a 16Gb microSD card then compare that price to the extra $100 you have to spend for the 32GB TF. Heck, I just walked into Staples today and walked out with a Sandisk Class 4 32GB card for $80. Just a little sleuthing online and you should be able to go even cheaper! So the big question you'd have to answer is just how much space do you really need? Do you really need to have 64GB just in the tablet (32+32) or will less still work for you?
Yep, I am totally with you on that. I am a bit out of touch with these things though; I had wondered if there was anything peculiar, for instance that it gave you the ability to run windows on a dual boot in the future, something like that.

Yes, you get the USB ports AND a SD card slot if you have the dock to go with the tablet. So, on the tablet alone, you could have up to 64GB total if you really wanted. Right now, I think a 32GB SD card is the most anyone has reliably working in the dock, AFAIK. As for the USB ports, they will spin 2.5" portable drives if you so desire.
ETA - I went with the 16GB model, just picked up the 32GB card and will wait on the rest. Although, I have a ton of USB drives and small SD cards laying around for now.

Honestly, if one was available I probably would have bought the 32gb.
Yes the MicroSD cards are $40 cheaper but the flash inside the tablet is a higher speed, higher quality NAND. Will write to/read from faster. Being said I would find myself carrying a spare microsd anyway, HD rips take up space like no other.
Google Music helped a LOT though. Down to only caching only a few hundred megs of music and the gigs upon gigs I just stream when I am just working and listening to random stuff (always within WiFi or tethering with Evo).

I've been wondering what the actual memory is in this thing. Wasn't sure if the SDcard label was just for convenience or if it were something else.
Also, what are you using to rip HD? I have a few blurays I wouldn't mind having on this thing. (Baraka being the big test!)

Are you using the WiFi hotspot feature on your Evo or some other method? I have not activated this on my Evo because I didn't want to pay the $30/mth fee. I have been using Easytether with my laptop and Evo successfully but would like to see what I can do with the TF. I download Easytether on the TF but couldn't get it to work.Honestly, if one was available I probably would have bought the 32gb.

Also, I would also be interested in what you are using to rip movies. I am looking for something that will do both bluray and dvds. The progams I have looked at appear to only do one or the other but not both. That then would mean having to buy two programs instead of one.

a. If you wanted to get around the fee you could root.
b. I havent really been ripping direct from blu rays. Either ripping digital copies or "sourcing" an already ripped copy. I also watch a lot of TV shows on it, download the show and convert using Handbrake.
