Help 16GB SDHC Card Issue

I recently got it as a gift for my birthday but it doesn't want to cooperate with me. I have a 4GB card that I've reverted to which will process everything properly.

Basically what happens is that I copy all my files from the 4GB to the 16GB and then try to add the rest of my music collection. It takes about an hour to transfer onto the card (unless it gives me a 'file or directory is corrupted and unreadable' error) after which I insert it back into the phone, but when I open my music player, it never accepts all of my collection. Only about an 1/8th of it. It's frustrating and I can't figure out why it would do that other than maybe the card is defective.

I've deleted the partition on the card, recreated it, reformatted, etc. but to no luck. I've spent about a total of 8 hours trying to fix it. I quit. :/ Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Are you placing your entire collection in a root folder called '\Music'? The media scanner will search this folder for all supported music files.

Yup. Everything was set up on my 4GB card before.
It will show up in the explorer window on my PC, but when I pop it into the phone, it says "Preparing SD Card" and I guess that's where it deletes the rest of the songs after a certain artist. It's always in the same spot.

Find link there to get tool to determine if your SD card is bogus, as in counterfeit.

I'm starting to think it's either counterfeit or defective. It was bought overseas on eBay.... I don't know. Kinda shady. :P
Thanks for the link. :]

Yeap - overseas on eBay is almost a sure-fire counterfeit - odd they didn't get you at 32 GB, that's the fake-standard.

Well - that tool linked in there will tell you for sure.
