Help 1day old nexus can't turn on power

My Nexus S is just a day old. I charged it full yesterday evening and this morning I couldn't turn on the phone. I unplugged the battery from the back, plugged in the charger and took out the battery while trying to push the power button (apparently nexus one can be fixed like that)

What's wrong with this phone? I read several threads how people have had problems related to these.

Should I just return the phone while I still can and change it to a different phone?

I am afraid that if I have problems with the power button on the first day, when the warranty expires, I will have more problems to follow.

Please let me know what you think is my best option.

Thank you

Did you perhaps fully drain the battery ?? This sometimes happens if you do that ...so DON'T DO IT AGAIN !
Try to shock the batt by letting the charger in your phone and [holding the battery in your fingers] but the batt in the phone only to touch the pins [not fully ,so you can get it out] ,leave it touching the pins for 2-3 secs and pull it off [leave it off 2-3 secs] -> repeat this for about one minute ,and pull of the plug ,leave the phone without batt for 1 min ,and install the batt ...see if it works [repeat this if it does not work the first time to be sure].
This should fix the problem ! Let me know :)
