Root [1st Gen] Have I bricked it?

Used Kindle Fire Utility from XDA developers to root.
Followed the intruction on this video: How to Root - Kindle Fire 6.3 & 6.3.1 - YouTube

Everything went fine except when kindle rebooted it sat on the loading screen and the kindle fire utility said waiting for device.
It stayed that way for a good 10-15 mins (video takes only a couple of minutes) Think it may have bricked, even rebooting the kindle it sits on the loading screen, pls help

solved by another thread.. was stuck in fastboot mode

When your pc is on and you turn on your KF, does your pc beep when the KF starts up? If so, try and open the KFU and go to the set bootmode option. With the KF off, select recovery mode in the KFU. It should say waiting for device. power on your KF and see if it will boot to recovery.

Getting stuck in fastboot is a somewhat common issue when trying to root the fire or at least it was back when I rooted.
