Root [1st Gen] Kindle Fire logo screen, not bootloop

I have seen many remedies to problems seeming similar to mine. I have tried them all. My kindle powers up, first bright kindlefire splash screen, dims, then goes on with the next splash screen. However, it never continues on to the animated splash screen. It never reboots, it simply stays like this until the battery dies/hard reset. I have tried manually using adb, using the KFU, or the KindleUnbrickUtility. However, no form of adb will find my device. I plug it in, windows 7 device manager says it exists, but the driver was unable to install, etc. I have tried manually loading drivers, still same error. Won't show up as a drive, won't show details in device manager. Been workign on it for 3 months to no avail. I am really hoping maybe someone of more experience will have some insight to my plight. Thank you all in advance for hopefully shedding some light on this problem.
