Hi. I'm VickyLane. I've had a MetroPCS LG Optimus M since December when I lost my non-Android phone. Yesterday I downloaded Where's My Droid ... if I lose this one, I'm ready.

I joined this Forum because I've spent the last two days trying to root my phone, unsuccessfully. Earlier this evening it appeared Gingerbreak was doing everything the guy doing the YouTube tutorial said it would do, right up to the point of actually installing it. Then I read the comments below the video, which clearly said: This method does not work if your optimus m is running android 2.2.2.

Back to the drawing board.

My phone is bumping txt msgs and sending me notes that memory is low.
The problem is, of course, MPCS bloatware. I have an SD card with 3.71 GB of space, but the internal memory was down to 16.7 MB. I deleted some contacts and text messages I would have preferred to keep, there is 25.31 MB internal memory and the phone is moving a little quicker than before.

My only option now is to downgrade back to the previous version ... if it took me a year to gain the courage to root, I don't think I have enough years left to be brave enough to retro-grade.

Nice to meet, y'all.

That's my story.
Thanks for listening.
