2.1 leaked with weather animations

I have the 2.1 leaked version on my eris and it shows the weather animation after I unlock the screen, clouds roll by or rain falls, ect. Does this only work for the HTC weather&clock widget and sense or can I get a weather app and alt home out of the market and it still work? Also can the Moto Droid do this?

It is a Sense only thing so you have to run the HTC Sense Weather widget
 
And it only works if it's on the center screen, and you don't touch the screen after unlocking it.
 
Darn. guess I'm stuck with sense. I really wanted to use open home but I dont want to lose the animation, guess I'll wait till the fun level with the animation goes down. Can the moto droid do it though.

Maybe with the new Sense 2.1 ROM......maybe
 
Give it time, someone will cook up a ROM that has the same feature but isn't tied to Sense. I'd be 100% happy with Sense if it wasn't for the dialer and how you get to it.
 
Mothy-Are you talking about a sense 2.1 rom for Eris or Droid? EricB- whats wrong with the dialer? I have heard a lot of people dislike it but why? Mine works great and no problems ( knock on wood)

I don't like how easy it is to redial a number or accidentally dial someone. It could be better.
