Help 2.2.1 jpu

i've read that xxjpy is the official release. i have flashed all 3 version of 2.2.1 (jpu, jpx and jpy) but jpx is more stable in my case. all are fast however but there are issues which made me think jpx is the best for my sgs. i have jf3 stock rom and upgraded in this sequence, jpo using 512 pit file and then jpx using the same pit file.

Froyo 2.2.1 JPY is the official release and fixes a few problems that JPX had, one of which was applications weren't sorted A to Z, there is also samsung account under software update. It looks as though SGS owners may get future firmware updates over the air.

You seem to know what you are doing/saying! :)

Where can I get all three files to flash: PDA, Phone, CSC?
All the files at Samfirmware have just the PDA.

It seems my problem now with my Froyo (JPA) is Phone/modem based and if I just upgrade the PDA portion it probably won't fix my problem. (Notifications for voice-mail is all screwed up).

stock rom at samfirmware.com have 3 files. i reverted to stock rom first before upgrading to 2.2.1.

1) flashed jf3 (stock rom) using 803 pit file, pda, modem and csc (xxoxa) with re partition checked.
2) flashed jpo (2.2) using 512 pit file and pda only, no repartition. afterwhich i have done a factory reset.
3) flashed jpx (2.2.1) using 512 pit file and pda only, no repartition, no factory reset.

i did not follow samfirmware.com at step 2 (using 803 pit file), i used 512 instead. my issues with jpu and jpy are lots of forceloses in almost all of my applications specially Swype.WVGA.2.10.52.13753 and some purchased applications not being seen in android market. i also have rooted using chainfires root for jpx which can be found at xda. don't have to apply lagfix, and i never used kies to update. kies connect with the phone to all 3 version of 2.2.1 however.

Thanks for this info!
I'm curious to know why you flashed jf3 stock rom?

That was my stock phone before I made the change yesterday.
Was your phone originally JF3 and you wanted to go back to it for some reason?
What was the reason for the JF3 flash?

So you are mixing JF3 modem and csc with JPX pda? Is that right?
Will that allow you to run Froyo apps that need the modem/2G/3G?

Ans. originally it was jf3 (june 2010) but i have flashed several roms already (jpm, jp6, jpu darkys rom, and the three 2.2.1. prior to that i have listed above. the last rom was jpy so i had to flash back to jf3 as repartition is required and maybe clean the system.

Ans. i guess no, because although there is only 1 file in both jpo and jpx, all necessary files needed are already in that file (as i have tried to unrar those roms to see what its contents are). it is also clearly stated in the site to load the pda if there is only 1 file. automatically, csc and modem will be replaced when an upgrade is done.

Ans. i have no problem so far at all using the modem, 2g and 3g. in fact i am now using my sgs with froyo 2.2.1 as router to connect to the internet (security/wireless/mobile AP).
