Help 2.2 to 2.3 gingerbed upgrade-help

Hi,

I use samsung galaxy SL and which has 2.2. Recently samsung has launched kies, thru which we can upgrade the firmware, if officially available. when I connect my phone to kies in the pc, it shows the upgrade is available. I clicked to start the process, but you know, even after 4 hrs, it was showig " preparing contents required for the upgrade".It didn't start the process( or might have started, but didn't show any percentage bar.) It so desperately gave up the idea. My net connection is 3.1mbps..atleat during off peak time.hm.

My problem is; I wanna upgrade. But which way do you think should i move? IS kies the only option?

Welcome to the forums!

Whenever I've had to work with one of the Samsung phones in my family, I found these little hiccups can vary by model - so I've moved your question over here to the support area for the Samsung SL.

If you don't get an answer here in a day or so (pretty soon), click on my name, send me a private message and I'll move this back into the general population for you.

But I think for things like upgrades, I've found that starting in the phone model forum usually works best.

Kies is sucky mate.
Try odin. Get the official stock rom from some site, google it.
and then flash it using odin.
