Help 2.3.3/4 Official ?

Hi there,
I am new in this forum and new to Android
And i read in google and here about 2.3.3/4 Gingerbread update for galaxy mini
is this update official or leaked ?:p

wat is found in samfirmware is official and also leaked...u'll call it official if u get it thru kies.
if not then i guess it's leaked...but it's all stable.
 
Actualy almost all of the users use the Roms that are downloaded from Forums and commuunities like Samfirmware. The Roms may be the official stock roms , but people dont go for Kies
Its reason are :
* The process is fast and easy.
* Upgrade or Downgrade to any version of ROM
* New versions are'nt available in all countries through Kies.
* Kies is slow on systems with limited Resources
& the worse case
* devices that are dead boot jammed cant be fixed through Kies

Some people wont change their firmware version fearing that it could tamper their warrenty. I don't think they are right, Software part should not bother the warrenty .
 
But Upgrading to the higher version through Odin and USSD code not working as the Custom Firmware will be of some European/Russian Version makes no sense! If you are worried to upgrade through Kies, just step in to any of the Samsung Customer service outlet and let them upgrade your phone within few minutes.

P.S: Gingerbread is not still available in India and I prefer to wait till it gets released rather than flashing myself for some European Version!

Cmon dude i lost samsung wave cause of flashing just missed up one of flash files and phone brick they told me that cant be fixed anymore
 
I am in Bulgaria atm (European country) But Kies says: This version of device cant be updated ... Phone has european FW i buy it here

if u mess up the flashing u cud brick the fone...there are many who bricked their fone by using rom manager after rooting their fone and still warranty covered it. most of the time the ssc will not know that device is rooted.
also if by any chance ur rooted device has had physical damage or something and if u want to claim ur warranty then u can flash back to the stock firmware thru odin and ur device will be unrooted...if u fear they may to take the warranty cuz ur fone is rooted.

i've just upgraded my pop to mini gingerbread, didn't see anything wrong.... its all working very fine as it should be, i've used all USSD codes that i usually do in my vodafone sim and it all seem to work without a hitch!

Did you got noticeable Battery improvement in Gingerbread than Froyo??!!
