Help 2.3.5 no gps notification

since installing 2.3.5 I dont have the gps symbol in the notification area when its switched on. Anyone else noticed this? Is it a fault?

The notification symbol goes on on if you start Maps or Navigation etc.

i remember another thread with this exact same topic when ur turn on ur GPS, its not activated until an app such as Maps or foursquare activates it.. when u open Maps for example, then u should see the GPS symbol. so when ur GPS is on, its not really working unless another app is using it.. so u wont see the symbol, and this means u can safely leave ur GPS on, and it wont drain battery.

so its not a fault, unless u mean the GPS symbol does not show even u open Maps etc

2.3.5 dont have gps icon in status bar by defult when switched on. run google map and you can see the new icon.

i dont think its anything new on 2.3.5, its been this way for me since 2.3.3

How about when the icon never shows, no app can ever access gps, been this way out of the box (second one in a row too). Completely stock, latest available gingerbread. No gps, like the system call to turn it on isn't actually happening. On, off, makes no difference. Never has shown up under battery drain either. Hellllppp, plz.
