2.3 gingerbread on the wildfire

Does anybody know if gingerbread will be available for the wildfire or is it just stopping at the 2.2 ?

I've researched and visited many sites and no notifications of Wildfire getting Gingerbread
But i've heard that we wont get it anyway, its just opinion but i have a feeling we wont cause Wildfire isn't a top-end android phone, its a "budget" android phone as some people call it

Hi just a quick observation seen at my local tesc store they are advertising the new Wildfire S which runs Android 2.3 so I dont see why they can not upgrade the older Wildfire phone.

Older phones do not always have the hardware ability to run the latest OS. It is also up to your carrier if they want to spend the resources to develop and send out an update to the phone.
