Coming from the G2 to the amaze is like polar opposites, all the small problems i had with the G2 are improved or gone from the Amaze and every thing i liked about the G2, Sense 3.0 has Dumped on , like web pages loading some sites (Phonedog) loads the entire page and you do not get halved banners on but do a Google search and get a google crunched web page and search bar...
Whats with that HTC....
I am finding that there are a lot of different options in Sense 3.0 for custom and fixing stuff to your liking, but theres to much going on in all those settings, less is more and Google knows it HTC just hasn't got the memo.....
love love love this phone but rooting to a Vanilla Experience is something i will consider....
also "Updates" how long has Sense 3.0 been out for seems like a company would be looking at getting updates out faster than the next new improved Sense...
Looking for something simple, easy and that just works.
Meah.

How do they get apps on a phone without fully testing them. Premium phone has a pushed to the consumer market feel, I'm so far not a fan of sense 3.0.

The trade off is not a close race, this phone is a great stepping stone in the race to be the top of the top, I guess is what i am trying to say is the phone is not boring at all, its different and has some kinks...the good parts about this phone leave the bad way behind... how does everyone else feel about the UI compared to a different UI? :)

I switched from Htc Desire HD to Samsung Galaxy 2 and hated it. I ended up taking it back and getting the amaze. I love sense.

I've had the Amaze for a couple of weeks, didn't care for the stock browser and am now using Opera Mini which I'm pretty happy with it so far (web browsing on the phone in general is always going to be a weak point due to many sites not designing for a small screen, so I'm not expecting any browser to be perfect).

Overall I'm very happy with the phone. I was previously using a G2X, which was fine when it actually worked, but was horrendously unstable (I had to pull the battery on almost a daily basis), which is pretty odd considering you would think a stock Android phone would be more stable, not less. So far the Amaze has been perfectly stable.

Similar reasons, I suppose, to why someone would post without spell-checking and grammar-checking. And posting before finishing, resulting in 2-3 sequential posts. ;) :D

I kid, don't take it seriously. Software QA is always a battle between thorough testing and bug resolution, and Marketing and Sales deadlines that so many partners and carriers are depending upon. I'm sure they hit the high risk and high visibility issues, but left some things unresolved that would've been noticed by a smaller audience. Personally I like Sense okay (coming from a Symbian Nokia), but it irks me that I have to change Scene, Skin, Lock Screen, Sound Set, and Profile all independently, when really a Scene could and IMHO should contain all these settings, enabling me to switch from commute mode to meeting with the CEO mode with a single setting. You can't convince me that a usability maven at HTC didn't think of that....

After getting a web page up on your phone, one of the problem pages I had with was (PhoneDog) hit Menu, Then More, Then Settings scroll down to Landscape-only display, Check it on and voila! no more half banners and web pages, and Signed in on Googles home page is what it should be gone now are the Text over text and links over links...Yeah!:D
