2 more tips for great battery life....

If you are turning everything off why are you using smart phone anyways. This phone can last the whole day that's what matters to me.

Having Wi-fi on saves battery, does not drain it. It's better on battery than 3g or 4g, plus it doesn't search for Signals, it only cuts on when it's hit with a signal. It's saved my battery life in 4g areas for sure. Just saying.

Also, that tips page is pretty old.

For comparing power consumption between 3G and WIFI, http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/419277-uses-more-battery-wifi-3g.html is a good thread. It is dated last September, so I assume it is not that old.

It says:
Wifi consumes less when connected, but more if unconnected but still scanning.
For both WIFI and 3G, a good signal should use less power as the phone isn't scanning for a signal all the time.

Since you have a lot of wireless networks in your neighborhood, the phone keeps on scanning for new networks. I have over 15 wireless routers in my neighborhood, my phone lasts less than two nights when I turns WIFI on.

These are great tips for when maximum battery life is important. I use them when charging on a daily basis is not possible, like when camping, or traveling. Otherwise, I leave EVERYTHING on and just charge at the end of the day. So far, I have never had an issue with batteries making it to the end of a normal day. Typically at 40 to 50% charge remaining.

I think these tips are great. For camping trips, emergency power outages, post apocalyptic scenarios. But for all other times, just leave everything you want on and charge whilst sleeping. I can go through an entire day of heavy use(without charging while driving which I normally do as I have a smart action set when I connect my charger and headphones, it sets brightness to 100%, launches Pandora, lowers ringer volume and turns on GPS) and still have about 15-20% when going to bed.

I unplugged at 7am and plugged back in at 11pm. Can't complain with that! When my regular RAZR(which I had switched to the MAXX) would be half dead by 10-11am with the same scenario.
