2 phones not recognized by PC

we have Samsung Continuum and Samsung Charge. PC runs on Windows 7

suddenly, both phones are no recognized by PC when connected via USB drive. mof, I had my Charge rooted twice off same PC and it was connecting fine.

both phones have mass storage enabled. my Charge connects to my work PC fine.

I downloaded Samsung driver, just in case - no difference. tried verizon media Manager - no difference.

USB connection apparently works, as it starts charging. also, I use it for camera connection all the time, no problem.

I have had this problem too with my current phone the mytouch 4g slide, and my former phone the Huawei ascend. It is very frustrating I tried drivers and all kinds of stuff, I finally gave up, and learned to make peace with it. I now have to take my sd card out and put it in my computer. I also am running windows 7.

For Samsung phones, you need to have Kies installed on PC to get everything working fine AFAIK. You dont have to even open the program, just let it sit in your hard drive.
