2 player game across android and IOS?

Hi guys,
So I need some help. My brother is currently confined to bed rest due to an accident and the boredom is killing him. Sadly he only has an iphone, while I have an S3, so I've been trying to play chess with him but the the app "Chess Time" keeps crashing or being unable to access.

Are there any suggestions for a game that doesn't require dexterity to operate (this is why chess was good as it's more thinking than doing) and works across IOS and android?
