Help 20 GB of personal music

wuzapple

Lurker
Have been perusing the forum looking for an answer to my issue w/ my new note in regards to my sd card and saving all my music to it. I am a well versed Iphone user-Android is a bit challenging to me at this point.

My quandry: I know Android uses memory much differently than Apple products. From what I have done and see, I keep maxing out on my memory when I add all my music to the phone even when I place all my music on the sd card when I mount it to my Imac. For some reason I am not aware of, even though I place all the music on the sd card, some of it is distributed to the internal memory as well. I end up with a maxed out internal memory-is there a trick in getting around this so I can add the 20 gb of music I have and not max out my phones other resources? I end up having less than 10 mb's free on my phone and some apps will not open due to this issue.

Forgive me if this sounds dumb-I'm trying to learn this system.

Frustrated.

Thanks in advance!

Scott

1. Purchase iSyncr from play store.
2. After installation of iSyncr on your Note, it will ask where you want it to install, make sure to choose external SD card.
3. Hook Note up to PC or Mac click on your external SD card under my computer.
4. Click on iSyncr to open and sync with iTunes playlist.
5. Done.

With this method all your music will be on the SD card.
I hope you find this infomation useful.

I find it somewhat surprising to hear this; my experience has always been that whatever I copy to the SD card stays on the SD card.

Not saying what you're experiencing is impossible (I've too many years working in IT to say that) just somewhat improbable...

TT; Thanks; will give that a try. Will let you know how that fairs. In the past, as mentioned, the thermal bar would fill up to maximum even under this treatment.

Rachel,
I hear you. When it comes to me, anything is possible. :)

TT,
How is this different from Double twist. I have DT already. That didn't work even though I checked 'store on SD card'. As mentioned, even tho the songs are stored on sd card, the display in storage (the thermostat bar) fills up to the max. I was told by someone before that the Android system distributes this was by default.

In my opinion iSyncr is better and easier to use than Double Twist, tried both.
Hmmm..if you installed iSyncr on the SD card all your musics should go there as well.

Try this, uninstall DT from your Note and delete all music from the Note as well.
Hook Note to PC, using iSyncr sync only a small amount of music (say 2-3Gigs) for testing purposes.
Disconnect Note from PC, all music should be on SD card. It's not rocket science it should work. If music is still on internal memory, something's wrong with your phone I don't know what else to tell you.
