Help 25 LG Lucids need a bit of life support with Jellybean. Please help.

I have followed some pretty decent guides on how to bring the LG Lucid up to Jellybean and for the most part I got it to work by following threads in this forum. Thank you for posting that information.

Here is my dilemma. I have about 25+ LG Lucids that are still perfectly good phones. Unfortunately they are all on 4.0.4. I have an Enterprise app from corporate that I must install on these devices. The only catch is they must be 4.1 or higher for the app to even install.

So I have 2 choices...JB and go to 4.1 or scrap the 25 phones and get new ones. I prefer not to fill a landfill with perfectly good phones. It's crazy talk.

So then whats the problem you say? I have a glitch that I cannot seem to solve. I have literally spent 24 hours trying to get the Lucid to comply. I must also admit that I have little to no experience with JB'ing phones. I have reflashed this thing no less than 8 times. I always start fresh at GB and work my way forward, step by step. My problem is this. I do not use external SD cards with these. When I am at Gingerbread the Camera and other apps can connect to some virtual sdCard partition/pointer with no problem. Once I get up to 4.1 using: cm-10-20130823-UNOFF, gapps-jb-20121011, and baseband Lucid-V8 some apps and especially the camera cannot see the internal sdcard any longer. The enterprise app I am trying to install somehow tries to access the sdcard partition too and cannot.

It is really weird because after the phone boots I can see it mounting an sdcard or some virtual form of it. The message appears on the top of the screen as it prepares it.

So I have pulled out enough large clumps of hair and I now mercifully ask one of you to help me get through this. From what I can see thus far I think this phone will perform fine with 4.1 if I can get this one wrinkle ironed out.

Is there an official update for this device? My understanding is that if you flashed the same rom to each device, they would share the same mac address. I dont know if that would be an issue for you. It would mean no wifi network access. The link you posted has been removed. Have you rooted the phone? Does it have an sd card slot? What is the exact make model and what firmware is it running?

There is no official update for the VS840.
I was not aware that flashing an unofficial rom would replicate mac addresses.
I always thought that network harware had a separate protected area that stored the mac info.
How does an official update randomize the mac? Can it be manipulated?
These devices are used in the field so for the most part they will not be sharing the same Wifi AP unless they converge somewhere for a meeting.

I have rooted the phone. It does have an external SD slot that I use only for getting zip files into the phone. I then remove it. The model number is LG LUCID VS840. When I look in the "about" section of the phone it says I am on Android 4.1.2. CyanogenMod Version cm-10-20130823-UNOFFICIAL-vs840

Here are the steps I have taken:
1. Download Drivers, KDZ Firmware Flasher and the GB .cab file.
2. Install Drivers, Extract KDZ files
3. In Extracted KDZ files install "msxml.msi"
4. Open "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe"
5. Convert GB Firmware (.cab file) to KDZ
6. Put phone into download mode
7. Open "KDZ_FW_UPD.exe"
8. Change "PhoneMode" to "Emergency"
9. Click the folder icon and choose the .kdz file that "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe"(R&D Test Tool) just made
10. Click "Launch Software Update" and wait for it to finish
11. Once your device boots, turn it off.
12. Boot your phone while holding volume down and preform a hard factory reset
13. Root the phone while on GB with 533930-one-click-root-lg-lucid
14. Install ROM Manager and in ROM Manager install CWM. Note: At this point I would place LGVS840_CWMT.zip on the EXTERNAL SD Card, reboot to Recovery and flash the zip
15. Download ROMs: cm-10-20130823-UNOFFICIAL-vs840.zip; gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip; Baseband-Lucid-V8.zip
16. Put ROMs on EXTERNAL SD Card
17. Get into recovery mode
18. MAKE A BACKUP!
19. Install ROMs in following order: CM10, GAPPS and Baseband Lucid V8
20. While in recovery mode, preform factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache
21. Reboot. You should have CM10 (JellyBean) on the LG Lucid

Step 14 of that particular guide says "Install ROM Manager and in ROM Manager install CWM"

As a newb I don't know any better so I just downloaded the first thing that shows up in GooglePlay that matches. I have seen the round "eye" icon in the past so I am assuming that is what they meant.

I can easily get it back to GB and rooted and not install Rom Manager if you have some other suggestions.
 
I believe that you must leave the sdcard in place when using CM10. The CWM we are using was ported from a device that had no internal sdcard.
