$25/Month Plan

I use close to 275 mins every month. But i do have extra top up dollars in acct just in case i run out of mins before the new month start.

Update! I just went to check my balance online and on the right side of the screen it had something like "Add phone insurance to my plan", which I was able to click on and then set up. Insurance works now!

Hardly ever use for than 100 minutes in a month. The wife uses quite a bit more but we have MagicJack for that. 300 a month is plenty for "away from home" phone calls.

I'm on the $25 plan, and making the same calculation. When I was with Sprint, I averaged about 600 min/mo.

Was thinking that GrooVe IP would be the solution for those minutes between 300 & 600 on the $25 plan (it's the relatively new app that uses Google Voice +voip over your 3G or wifi connection, without use of VM plan minutes); the app wasn't expensive and the developer is incredibly responsive to user issues, but the 3G isn't reliable enough on my OV to make the app work consistently when not on wifi.

I'm thinking I'll upgrade to the $40 plan before it goes up to $45. That's what I was paying for a feature phone on Sprint, and they made it clear they weren't going to let me get a smartphone on my old plan. I figure I'm still coming out ahead.

Huh, I got the $25 plan b/c I thought Google Voice minutes were free. What is GV good for, then?

Forwarding calls to any number you want on any schedule you specify, beautiful visual voicemail for free on providers other than VM, getting voicemails on your computer or phone or whatever. I ditched my business land line in favor of Gvoice.

I do have Groove IP for free minutes but I bought it to use when I'm overseas to use on wifi. I rarely use more than 100 minutes a month so I don't bother with it here.

My phone is used for two things really. 1 - To text message with my kids. 2 - It's a toy... I love playing with gadgets. :p

Since I work from home, I'm always near my land-line so I never use more than 20 minutes of my VM talk time.... unless Comcast gets stupid and knocks me offline for a few hours.

When I'm not working, my comp is my gaming rig. With a dual monitor setup my cell is worthless for surfing the net. My eyes are old... I gotta have that big text with my Firefox browser hehe. ;)
