Reading the device page I don't know if this pertains to existing customers....I haven't tried it yet.

Much as I love Ting I wouldn't go for this because honestly, if you have home internet you can walk into Walmart and buy a box that connects to your Google voice number (assuming you have one) and then your home phone bill is $0 per month, every month.
A little up from that you've got magic jack which is just $19.95 a year.

I guess it depends on your situation.

If you already have Ting cell phone service, depending on your usage it would be possible to add the Home Phone Connect 2 to your account without costing you extra by staying in the same bucket.

It's not for everyone, but a good option to have available.
