Help 2G / 3G Switch

Hi All,

To improve the battery life of my device, I would like to use 2G networks instead of 3G. But I couldn't find a 2G/3G switch. Can anyone tell me where this setting is?
I'm using stock rom.

(I'm pretty sure that there's such a setting in android 4, I used that feature on my previous device but I couldn't find it in anywhere for my stock i9300)

go to settings -> more settings -> mobile networks -> Network mode

You can then choose between GSM and WCDMA or Auto as it is by default
