Help 2nd Mytouch-Transferring apps

Been a lurker for a while now...hopefully I can be of assistance on other matters.

I searched here and google...I got a lot of answers but would like a little more specificity.

I recently got another mytouch...I want to transfer all of my apps to the new phone. On the old phone I had everything on the SD card (via "app 2 sd")...but when I put the SD card in the new phone nothing is there (its all still there when I put it back in the old phone though)...not even the music I had on it, however...it is there when I look at it through my comps browser, the music at least.

I'm running Launcher Pro Plus...and had those settings backed up...everything was perfect. I have everything set up the way it was on the old phone, just can't get the old free apps on the new phone. I've tried appbrain but it wont let me install from there...even though they all show up and say installed.

The other bummer is I imagine I lost all of my game data...ie my completed game of Angry Birds etc...

ok...I got a work around...kind of.

When I synched with appbrain on both phones it made a list on my account for each phone. I added the apps that were on the old phone list to the new phone list and then synched the new phone with the new appbrain list (which now had the old apps added to it).

I then went into the appbrain app on the new phone and I could view the missing apps and download them from there.

Does any of this make any sense at all?

Not perfect...but at least I can get my old apps back.

I'd still like to hear a better way...and also now more importantly a way to get my saved game data back (I still have my old phone...I have a few days before I have to send it in) and also...why wouldn't anything on the SD card be transferred to the new phone?

i think i had to do the same ... okay i lied i wrote everything i had down and reinstalled them.

I ended up getting mybackup pro and with root access i was able to backup all the data that was with each game.

Some programs may not let you backup the data which is what your looking for.
