So I got my first Thunderbolt in May. The hotspot kept dropping, I took it to a Verizon store and got told it was a known issue and to wait for the update. Update comes and goes and it still is dropping. Verizon sent me a refurb, and I can receive calls, but no one can hear me speaking. Now they're sending me another one. How many times are they going to send me a refurb phone before its enough?

Lucky number 5 is always perfect and without defects.
But in all seriousness, you got the phone AS SOON as it came out. Most brand new phones have some bugs to be worked out. Then you got a refurb, which in my experience are more prone to problems.
My advice to you would be to take it back in asap if you find any problem no matter how big or small, i dont feel bad cuz theyre gonna recase it, reflash it and send it back out. You will get a good one soon enough. It can be a pain but there isnt a whole lot else you can do. The thunderbolt is a good phone. Htc makes great phones. Its just the luck of the draw and once you get a refurb, youre getting phones that previously had issues.

You know most products aren't classified as, well you got it when it first came out so they will work out the bugs. I had NO issues with my Evo. So if my Evo was perfect and my Thunderbolt isn't it's got to be Verizon that are the douchebags.
At this point I think I need the Charge.
I did that, after 3 NEW thunderbolts.... I'm now back to a new updated thunderbolt that is wonderful thank god. The charge is just too slow and the gps and wifi are useless. Very poor call quality comparatively as well. It was low maintenance Ill give it that, the battery was starting to get conditioned and in my 3g area no better than the t bolt. The saturated screen is nice but the resolution is the same.. when on auto brightness you never get to enjoy it.. hdmi out was nice and audio quality through the 3.5 is better..
