Hi everyone,
I just got a sweet new Optimus 2X (model P999) to replace my creaky old Xperia X1 (if it matters, I am with WIND Mobile, in Canada). Froyo is an amazing upgrade for someone used to WinMo 6.1, but I was given the impression that there was some kind of update released for this phone. Some sources say Gingerbread, some say it's just something to stop all the weird auto-reset and freeze bugs (which has already happened to me once so far).
However, the LG updater I downloaded from here (version 1.5.4.4) says that my phone is up to date. Now, the phone itself says that it's running 2.2.2, but that's not even the latest Froyo version, never mind Gingerbread, and certainly not any sort of bug fix.
I have already installed the USB driver via the "Install USB driver" button in the LG updater. It recognizes that my phone is P999 (and also version V11H, I don't know what this means). And yes, the phone is recognizing that it's in USB mode, and I am not using the USB storage mode, in case that matters.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to update my phone? Should I just forget about LG support, and Cyanogen the thing?
