3.5mm jack sucks

For some reason I never noticed this before, but the headphone jack in this phone is seriously flawed. None of my headphones, RCA cords, etc... will plug into it properly.

They basically don't plug in all the way securely, thus making my music/movies sound like junk with audio going in and out ever so slightly and making an annoying crackling sound. I've test everything from videos to mp3's to Pandora.

Ugh, I'm so tired of returning phones. Can anyone else test this for me? You may need to listen closely because I never noticed it in my car, but I definitely did on my stereo receiver in the house.

I think it's just your phone. I always have my car tape deck adapter thing and headphones plugged into it for most of the day and it has never gone in and out

This is my second Vibrant. The last one did it too and I thought it was just that phone...

I just tested two different sets of headphones and it's doing it. Off to TMobile tomorrow. Yay!

I used to only get sound out of one speaker on my moto droid and bb 9700 unless i really fiddled with the jack input, but this one has been perfect (so far, fingers crossed).

Can you do me a favor? Plug some headphones in and listen to some music. If you listen carefully, do you hear any crackling at all? Like I said, I never noticed it before, but once I listen for it, it becomes more obvious.

listened to a few songs over slacker with a different (better) headset than what i normally use and didn't hear anything out of the ordinary

what he said^ mine was like that the first couple times i did it and then i realized i didnt have them in all the way now it sounds great. i only get a slight noise when im listening to pandora while on my motorcycle and my service keeps going in and out
