3 days on Galaxy Nexus - Back to Spectrum

lol yea, I could see having someone on speakerphone, like in the iPhone commercial, but otherwise, it's not practical at all.

I don't get where mrB and hollywood are coming from.

Maybe it's because I never hold my phone up to my head and always use speakerphone but I have also used the internet (3G) while being on the phone a few times and it works just as good as when I'm not on the phone.

I definitely have not had problems with the phones screen shutting off while doing so.

If you're on a call, the screen will turn off after 10 seconds or so. It's an odd quirk I found a few times while on calls. I don't believe it's an issue if you're using the phone and actively using the data connection, like a web browser, but I've never checked.

proximity sensor.... i have a bad habit of accidentally touching it when in on a call and looking at my screen... as soon as you touch it.. screen goes black for a few seconds

I didn't have my phone is speaker, and that is where my issue was probably coming from. When using the phone against your eat as normal use, the screen goes black when the device is in a vertical position. When. U tilt the phone to use the dual pad the screen will turn back on. When I hit home to exit the dialer/ in call screen while on a call my screen keeps strobing on and off making it very unusable in a multitasking situation. Like I said I wasn't using speakers phone so that may make the difference.

I was having this issue as well, and a few days ago I found a solution...at least for me. Try wiping the area of the screen around the motion sensor as this has resolved my issues.

The sensors on this phone are quite sensitive, as you can probably tell by holding your phone @ different angles in the light on 'auto brightness' and watch the screen dim. I haven't encountered dimming as noticeable as on this phone. Not really a bad thing, just really sensitive.

Sorry to hear about your Nexus problems. I know the data connection on mine is plenty solid, but I'm in a great area for data (and it's folks' most complained problem about the Gnex). Hope your plenty happy with your Spectrum (and you get ICS soon!). :)

Thank you I'll be fine. The spectrum does all it needs to do, just not ice cream sandwich which is more of a desire than need. Btw spoof app also does not work on jelly bean.
Thanks for your comments, good day to you.

I tested while using speakers phone and all worked flawlessly so that must have been my issue with the screen strobing on and off.
