3 questions about going to 4.0.4

I have a few questions. Can I load the new 4.0.4 without having to lose all my settings, apps, etc...? Seems like everyone is saying to do a factory reset.

I have an s2 t-mobile and the phone has issues not dialing sometimes (runs through the motions like it's dialing but I can't hear anything but the other party can)...Would this be an issue covered in 4.0.4?

What is the easiest method? I've seen a few diffent ways but not sure the recommended especially if I want to keep everything.

Thanks!

You can do a backup that will save stuff, but unless you are concerned about contacts, which are saved through Gmail you will get all those back.

Apps will also be saved through the play store and linked with your Gmail.

If you are look for saved games, then i would suggest getting DataSync

Hope this helps

It depends entirely on how you would update. I have updated my phone and tab using official methods from Samsung (using Kies software) and I have never lost any app or settings. Even my homescreen setup is carried over. However, if you would be flashing manually, you'd lose everything.
