$30 Plan Gone!?!?!?!?

I saw that T-Mobile has gone to no contract plans, but there's no sign of the $30 per month plan with 5GB data! Am I missing something, like where to find it on the site? I was planning to switch to that plan when the new Nexus came out so I could get a year on my VM Evo V.

Just had to make it one more day for my nexus to arrive tomorrow. Already have the sim card ready to go.

Ah yes!!!!! That's the only plan I'd get

Edit: It seems like they've taken Walmart out of the deal

?!?!

All their prepaid phone prices have gone way up! The Note 2 was 650 with a fifty dollar card, now it's 730 with a fifty!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the $30 plan is going to be offered through vendors, like Walmart.

Idk if it's just me, but they certainly have done a good job of hiding prepaid options on their website. It's still there though.

That is because the site is only advertising prepaid now. I will agree that they've done a good job of hiding the $30 "Walmart" plan but it is still there.

My understanding is that all plans sold directly through T-Mobile now are prepaid, with the phone prices being based on a no interest loan paid back over 24 months. To get a T-Mobile contract plan, you must by from a T-Mobile reseller (such as Best Buy).

20 months, not 24, but essentially you are correct. I honestly like their way much better. Especially how you can pay off the phone earlier without any early payment fees. Makes buying that expensive new phone much easier without getting stuck in a money sucking contract.

It appears to be 24 monthly payments under the new plan, at least according to their website.

Let me get a Note 2 on that payment plan with the $30 plan!! :D

You have to sign up with a "qualifying data plan" to get the no interest loan, and if you cancel the plan you have to either pay the balance or return the phone. So you can't get the loan with the $30 plan.

T-Mobile is NOT - repeat NOT - going all prepaid. The new plans are *postpaid*. Prepaid plans are still available, including the $30 'Walmart' plan.

They ARE going all *non-contract*, whether prepaid or postpaid.

Perhaps the better way to say it is they are blurring the lines between the two. From what I can tell, they will be prepaid or postpaid with the plan being the same either way (other than the $30 plan), other then if you pay at the beginning or end of the month. Of course, to pay at the end of the month and to finance the phone, you will need to have good credit and a credit check.

Though pre-paid will not get data roaming and post-paid has data priority when network traffic is heavy.

There are more differences than that. Price, network priority, etc.

I edited my post to include data roaming and priority as you were posting this.

I am not seeing a price difference, other than the $30 plan. And perhaps I'm understanding wrong, but my impression is that they are largely doing away with "T-Mobile Monthly" (their old data prepaid plans), which is why they no longer have links to it on their main webpage.

The individual plan prices between prepaid and postpaid appear to be the same ($50, $60, $70, again excluding the $30 plan). I suppose the difference is if you can get a Family Plan prepaid or if those will only be postpaid (despite being no-contract). Perhaps they have remained intentionally vague on this, as I've not seen anything in their official announcements that clarifies what plans will be available prepaid?

T-mobile plan is somewhat confusing about the data add on. I see all these 2GB package to add on with all the prices , but if you want unlimited, just pay $70. See?
