$300 Tablet - Help me Decide

I have about $300 to buy a tablet. I was going to go for the Asus MeMO pad HD7 for like, a quarter of the budget, but now Im thinking about the nexus 7 2013.

Here is the question, I'm not in the US, and Google never launched the tablet here, hence the price is pretty higher than it was supposed to be. I can get the 16gig wifi version for $280. Is it still a good deal? For the money?
 
Yes, go with the Nexus 7.
Perhaps look around for deals on the web? I imagine even with importing it to wherever you are, you could till find it cheaper.

NVIDIA SHIELD TABLET 16GB!!!!

Sells for around $299, best tablet on the market.
 
So the Nexus 7 is better than the
Tab 3 8.0
Tab 4 7.0?

EDIT:
I need the nexus primarily for gaming, web surfing, and writing a quick article draft on the go (so more RAM, the N7 is 2 gigs, that going t be quite enough, right?)

The nvidia Tegra Shield was designed for gaming and has the fastest graphics processor available on a mobile device.

I'm not sure why users are so fixated with Nexus devices, the Nexus 7 2013 is a nice tablet but sadly it was released just before Snapdragon 800 become mainstream and is technically a generation behind now in terms of performance.

Then which one can I get?
Any thing From Samsung?
or Asus MeMO / fonepad?

I can't get the Shield.
