Accessories 32g SD card? anyone actually use one yet?

A TAD off topic but I needs the help! I have a 16 GB card that my 2 year old Dell Studio w/ Vista 15 will NOT recognize no matter what I've tried. Anyone else have this issue, and if so, any ideas???? I would REALLY appreciate any info because I'm going nuts with this...

I think you're problem could be that the 16GB card is SDHC. I did a quick google for "Dell Studio SDHC" and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem as you.

I would try putting the card in the phone then using the USB cable to transfer what you need.

Yea I ordered two 32gb MicroSD cards....one from Ebay and one from Amazon. Both are around $50-$60. Both have "SANDISK" on it...one came with the actually Sandisk packaging and one came with just the adapter and the microSD card. I have used both and tested both. Both are CRAP! I formatted one before I used it and I formatted one after I used it. Both reads 31.2gb. Regular and small folders are fine but it comes to music and movies files...it was pretty much useless! The files will transfer but sometimes its missing some CODE or lines. Some files will go through and some were corrupt if it did. I couldn't play most of the movies when the microSD card was on the computer OR my phone. The music songs files would merge together where when its saying im playing "B.o.B - Airplane" a lil after the song played, another song would pop up but the music file name was still "B.o.B - Airplane" So yea its really annoying and I cant believe ppl are falling for it. I learned my lesson.

I mean i did buy my 16gb on ebay and whether it was fake or not...its working flawlessly!

I believe the HTC Incredible needs the 2.2 Foyo update to recognize a 32GB micro SD card.

I would suggest a 16GB Micro SD Card if you want one now.

The first 32GB Micro SD Card was just released in March 2010 by SanDisk.

Yeah was afraid someone would say that. How much does a 16GB go for? Any recommendations on a good one?

Thank you.

I just got a 16 GB Micro Sd with adapter from Frys Electronics with a final cost after mail in rebate of 12.99 (Mail in Rebate is $30)

They are out of stock online but do the search for pick up at store and if they have one close to you pay for it online.

You will save 3 bucks off the store price...

Why not just buy a few 16GB cards? Hard reset your phone with NO SD card in, and when you activate it, it will start storing all the normal phone stuff to the internal 8GB (like web cache, app data, etc) That way the SD card can be hot swapped for music, movies, porn, etc. They come in those little cases, too, so just toss them all in one and there ya go. Convenient, no. Cheap, yes.

Any way you could PM me and walk me thru how to do this??

I bought one from microcenter and Its a microcenter brand card 16gb for 30 bucks. I have no problems with it.

Just got mine on Saturday. Works great. Already loaded up about 10 movies and all my music with plenty of space left. It appears to be transferring at around 5-5.5MB/sec so that would be very close to class 6 which is what a lot of people have been reporting. This was a VERY good deal for $13. Glad I held out.

I'm pretty sure VZW is going to offer it with the Droid X for $99. Go look at the accessory guide that was released with all the Droid X information.

I think the only big gain is going to be when we have rooted images that can use SD or the 8gb internal memory for application storage instead of just the stock 512k block.

I'm sure faster SD memory helps with the speed of loading mp3/roms too, I just don't know how important that really is since it happens at load-time and not during run-time, especially since these are smaller files (normally < 300kb)

Most likely theres is a class 2 that's what mine is but honestly there is really no diffrence when i nthe phone . Only time you'll notice the diffrence is transfering large files onto the card from your computer. My card before this was a class 4 8gb card but it really wasn't even noticable when transfering data on to the card . So I don't see the point in spending the extra money on a class 4/6 card .
