32GB and 64GB Note 2 avaliable on EE/T-Mobile in UK in November

Hi all.

1st post here and as a soon to be android user! :D

I've been wanting to pick up a Note 2 ever since I first heard about them. I've had an iYawn4 for the past couple of years which has been ok but I'm now ready for something much more fun!

I've been waiting and waiting for the Note 2 to be available on T-mobile/EE but none of the advisors on the phone or in the shop could give me any information about the Note 2 in regards to price plans or spec etc. I read about the 15th release date for the Note 2 on T-Mobile a couple of days ago and I confirmed it with an advisor last night.

Whilst googling for Note 2 info last night (like I have been doing non-stop for I don't know how long!) I stumbled across price plans for the Note 2 on T-mobile. The page wasn't accessible from the T-mobile site but you could access it from a direct link. Today I have noticed that the Note 2 shows up on T-mobiles site now. I would post a link but I don't think I can as a new user, it's easy to find though.

Whilst looking at the site today the 'Chat to an advisor' dialogue box popped up so I thought I would try my luck and get any more info out. This is a log of the chat I had:

Patricia: Hi there, my name is Patricia. I am part of the dedicated T-Mobile Online Sales Team. How can I help you with your new order?

Patricia: Hi Fran

Patricia: How are you doing today?

Fran: Hello Patricia. I'm good thanks, how are you? I am interested in the Galaxy Note 2, is it currently stocked?

Patricia: Yes

Patricia: I will certainly help you with that

Fran: It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions or just 16GB?

Patricia: Its only 16gb

Fran: Ah I see, that is a shame. I'm currently a t-mobile customer and I'm due an upgrade. I presume I will need to phone up about that?

Patricia: The other going to come by next month

Fran: The other capacities? Is there any pricing on them?

Patricia: I am really sorry as it has not been released yet

Fran: No problem, I understand. But the 32GB and 64GB versions are due to be released next month?

Patricia: Yes

Fran: Thanks Patricia, that's great to know.

Fran: Can I ask you another question?

Patricia: Yes

Fran: I currently have the Full Monty

Just ordered my Note 2 on an orange contract, will be delivered mon,i have 900mins,unlimited text and 1 gig of data a month for

I really wasn't expecting the other models to come out at this point. I'm dying to get a Note 2 but I think I might hold off and see what the pricing is like on the other models. I realise you can put a large SD card in which I will no doubt do but from what I have been reading, you can't completely run games from the SD card unless you root it.

I also asked about tethering as I have been reading about t-mobile removing tethering capabilities from users with new contracts but I couldn't find any information on current customers. It looks like I'll still be able to use my Note 2 to tether which will be great!

I'm currently on the

Haha wow. I spoke to Patrica too on T-Mobile. She said the same thing. Then I called up and they said there's NO information at all on the 32+64GB being shipped to the UK. They have no idea, and it's extremely unlikely that they'll be coming this or next month.

I also called up Vodafone + O2 and they said the same thing. The Note 2 32+64GB version won't be coming to the UK for a while, heck it might not even come!

I say just root it if you have to, and get a 64gb micro sd. Transfer the large apps to the micro sd card slot if you need to.
Total space on the 16GB is 10.5GB

If you can install all your apps + have 5GB left it's fine. You can just put your music / pictures / videos on the microsd card. Photos and videos taken can also be set to be saved automatically on the sd card. Lastly the price of a 64GB Microsd card class 10 on amazon.co.uk is around

Crossing my fingers and toes that something is mentioned about the higher capacity versions for the Note 2, at the US event on the 24th. Maybe that's what the delay is for the higher capacity versions worldwide (e.g. Just waiting for the US to have their "formal" release dates announced, so that they can launch the 32 & 64 Worldwide, at the same time)?

Wow, that is pretty amazing that you spoke to the same person too!

It really is shitty if they are giving false information out like that in an attempt to hold on to customers. I can imagine them doing it over the phone but it's another thing to write it where the text can be logged.

I'll give them a call on Monday and see what they have to say. No doubt they will deny all knowledge of it too.

Thanks for the advice on the storage etc. I do plan on picking a 64GB SD card up but I'm just a bit wary about pulling the trigger on a 16GB version now if there are larger capacities coming just around the corner.

I've never had an Android so I'm not sure what they are like once rooted. I Jailbroke my iPhone once which I presume is a similar thing to rooting a Android but I wasn't impressed with the buggy OS I was left with. Are rooted Android OS builds pretty stable/decent?

Arrrgh, I hate decisions like these, especially when I could be being misinformed by a vendor

Well, not really. Rooted devices aren't buggy. They just unlock more features. It doesn't slow the phone down at all like a jailbreak does.
Also you don't need to root the phone if you use less than 5/6GB worth of apps since everything else can be stored on the micro sd card.

do you need to root sim free devices too?

Thanks for the info.

I spoke to an upgrade advisor yesterday and he said he had honestly not heard anything about the 32GB or 64GB versions coming out so it looks like 16GB it is.

T-mobile (UK) were meant to getting them in yesterday but they've not had stock in from Samsung. A different advisor was meant to be phoning me with a stock update last night but of course that didn't happen

Oh well, at least it gives a little more time for me to get a screen protector, case and SD card sorted.

The 32gb and the 64gb wouldn't matter because the external storage allows up to 64gb and that adds up to 80gb with the internal storage. Unless you're the kind of person that likes to store a lot of HD videos on the note 2 (which makes sense since the big HD screen is best for watching videos). Then again, it doesn't hurt to get the 64gb model since it will only cost $50 more. Hmmm...now I think I would like to get it, but Canada always gets new phones 2 months later than the rest of the world x.x

So, what happened? I told you the 32GB and 64GB won't come for a while, they're not even here yet and some people are saying they might not come to the UK at all due to the lack of demand.

I got my Note 2 Titanium Grey 16GB last week - It's great, and I just rooted my phone to get gl to sd and now I've put the 7GB of games - on the sd card, only the large ones - Nova 3, Asphalt 7, Modern Combat 3 Gta 3 and Need for speed most wanted. Now I have 7/8GB free on internal, and it only takes up 7GB of space on my 64GB micro sd card.

All my pictures taken automatically get saved on the sd card - simple setting in the camera app, and I put all my pics + music + videos on the sd card which is pretty fast. Be sure to just eject the sd card and copy it over directly using the adapter though since it's much faster than using the phone cable to usb.

I wouldn't really wait any more, no point waiting and waiting when it most likely won't come.

Did I wait? Did I hell :D

I got my 16GB Titanium Grey LTE just over a week ago. It was a massive pain to try and get one in the end. I was phoning for days and days and they never came into stock when they said they were due in.

When they finally came into stock they were allocated to other customers before I could get one. I was told there was no way to order or reserve one and I had to just had to keep phoning and seeing if they had stock in which was a joke.

If I didn't get a discounted tariff I would have left them weeks ago but I finally managed to bag one last Friday.

I've had a few teething niggles with it so far but on the whole it's an awesome bit of kit! :D

I'll probably root mine eventually but as I'm pretty much new to Andriod I'm going to keep it stock for the moment whilst I learn a little more about it.

Kenyen333, how do you get the photos to save to your memory card. I can not find it in settings.
Help please.

Open up the camera then press cog symbol (lower left) scroll down the window that opens, at the bottom you will see "Storage" press on that and choose Memory Card :D

Woops, sorry I was late - he said what I was going to say.

And rooting your phone isn't really needed, but it helps in some aspects. I don't think I'll even install a different rom though, I really like touchwiz, prefer it to the stock android in many cases.

I just rooted mine to move my 5 large games to the sd card. (Gl 2 sd). I will also add another thing that allows me to multi-task with any app.

Titanium grey is the best colour :D Really really like my note 2 :)

Everybody has opinions, but the majority of people pick the titanium grey. Looks more premium. In my opinion white phones just look cheap + tacky, and it makes the screen not look as great since there's a white bezel.

The grey does look lovely, but I would have preferred a black note 2 or a slightly darker one. Nice to have a bit of a change anyway.

WHITE.....made you look :D
S'Note.

Have to disagree with the poster who said grey is superior. The white looks premium and classy IMHO. The grey looks too ordinary for my tastes.
