32GB Overkill? Dodgy music player?

Just purchased a 32GB card for my phone because I will be using this as my primary music player (Lost my iPod nano, another story!!) question is, how does the S2 perform? Does it sound at least as good as the IPOD? Is it a viable music player to have?

I ask now before I open it because I still have the option of taking it back and purchasing an iPod nano (or touch!) so lemme know guys. Thanks :)

well, the sound quality for me is fine.. i used an ipod touch too.. just change the earphones to a good pair, like u should with any ipod... and ur good. there's a whole bunch of good music player apps to choose from.. the stock one isnt great.. there are a few good free ones (doubletwist comes to mind), and a few great paid ones (ubermusic, poweramp) so ur spoilt for choice. i'd stick with the SGS2, it can do everything ur ipod can do, plus more.. doesnt work the other way around :D

I agree, keep the S2, as long as you get a normal music player app (or you don't mind the stock one) its as good or better than the ipod.
i had a bunch of ipods, of different editions, and im now just using the s2 and poweramp music player.
i got a poweramp widget on my lockscreen so i can easily control it, and it feels a bit like an ipod like that..

Thanks for the replys! I do have quite a decent pair of sanhieser headphones so I should be ok in that department. Its funny because I actually had some beats which I kept in a little carry case with my iPod Nano and it was that carry case with everything in it that I lost! (actually not that funny)

Anyway, whats the difference between the normal music player and power amp? For someone like me who just wants to click an artist and play, what benefits does it have over the traditional music player?

Thanks again.

Firstly i think the widgets are great - you can control it from your home screen or lock screen, or use the poweramp's lock screen when it plays instead of the normal one.
another thing is the equalizer which has alot more options, and with it the music sounds alot better to me, especially on my car's speakers - huge improvement.
it feels alot better to use it, and it looks a lot better, and there are alot of options so you can make it more the way you like it..

i love it, worth the money - 5$

but you can download a 2weeks free version, and see how it fits you

yeah, like semums says, its basically extra features.. like the EQ and lockscreen widget.. however, there are little things too.. for example, in the stock music app, when u select an artist, u see all their songs immediately, sorted by album.. whereas i prefer the ipod style method of selecting an artist, and seeing the albums.. then selecting an album, or choosing to see all songs..

ubermusic is by far the best looking music player ive used, and easiest to use... its also not free, and it doesnt have the fancy EQ and other features of poweramp, but it looks so great, and works so smooth :D it doesnt haev a lockscreen widget, but it can turn off ur lockscreen while playing, so when u turn on ur screen, u immediately get ur music controls, no need to swipe ur lock screen.. look around n see wat suits u..
