I got a $35 Azpen A727 tablet from my local microcenter and have been playing around with it. It runs Android Jellybean 4.2.2. Additionally, I purchased a USB OTG Y cable to go with it. The cable works great as I can connect a mouse and keyboard to the tablet greatly enhancing the functionality of the device.
What I can't do is get the tablet to charge while I am using the Y cable. Is this possible on stock Android 4.2.2? My tablet is rooted. I have read where some people have used Timur's custom kernel that allows the tablet to charge, but the kernel was not designed with my device in mind. The tablet's worst quality is poor battery life. Is there anything I can do?
